How many cottages are there?
There are only 2 cottages: a two-story, 3-bedroom cottage and a single story, 2-bedroom cottage. They are fully modernized with microwaves, stoves, refrigerators… etc. They are also fully winterized and therefore year-round houses. These cottages have been in our family for 5 generations and are really nice houses, especially well suited to children.

How far apart are the cottages and the beach?
The cottages sit across from each other. They are on the same piece of land and share a common fence, a common walkway, and common parking. The beach is across the street from the cottages and down a flight of stairs. It is a private beach for the exclusive use of our renters only.
What is the swimming and lake like? The depth of the water?
The water is very shallow and ideal for swimming for the first 150ft to 200ft, depending on the month. The slope of the lake is also very shallow – 25 ft out from the shore is only about knee deep for an average adult during August. It is great for swimming and similar activities. The water is very shallow and nice for swimming, boating, and every possible water sport. It is very clean. The beach itself is also clean, sandy, and private, for the exclusive use of our renters.

What is the parking like?
There is ample parking space for both cottages in front of the garage.
How many beds does each cottage have? What is the size of each bed?
The 3-bedroom cottage has 5 beds; a queen size bed in the master bedroom and two twin-sized beds in each of the other bedrooms. The 2-bedroom cottage has 3 beds; a queen size bed in the master bedroom and two twin-sized beds in the other bedroom. The 3-bedroom cottage can sleep 6 people while the 2-bedroom cottage can sleep 4.
How many bathrooms are there?
Each cottage contains a full bathroom with a shower stall on the first floor. The 3-bedroom cottage has a half bath on the second floor.
Are there pictures of the cottages? The interior?
Yes, there are pictures of both. We now have about 100 pictures total and are working on adding more each month. You can see all the pictures by clicking on thePhotographs link above or you can view only the interior photographs.
In which town are the cottages located?
They are located in Colchester, VT – about 8 miles (10 minutes) north of Burlington, Vermont’s largest city. Colchester surrounds Malletts Bay.
Where can I rent boats,kayaks or paddle boards?
We have one rowboat, two adult kayaks, two kid kayaks and two paddle boards each available to rent for the full week. All rentals are first-come, first-served and include life vests. Some marinas in the area may rent power boats.
Where is the closest boat ramp or boat launch?
The public boat launch is right up the road, maybe 5 minutes away.
What are the nearest cities and attractions?
The nearest city is Burlington but Shelburne and Shelburne Village are also relatively close. The cottages are near the Canadian border and about 90 miles from Montreal. For attractions and activities please visit our links page.
