Malletts Bay

ver016Malletts Bay is a small enclosed bay on Lake Champlain, completely surrounded by the town of Colchester. The Bay is ideal for swimming, boating, fishing and water sports. The water is crystal clear. Our clean sandy beach is private, and perfect for reading, relaxing, sunning, and building sand castles. The sunsets over the mountains are spectacular. Be sure to bring your camera — even amateur photographers can take gorgeous shots.

map02Colchester is a great point of departure. It is about 10 minutes from Burlington, Vermont’s largest city and home of the famous Church Street Marketplace. You can visit the Shelburne Museum and go antique shopping in nearby Shelburne, or head out to Waterbury to tour the Ben & Jerry Ice Cream Factory. Montreal is only 90 miles away.

ver032The Bay itself provides for protection from rough water. The water is clear and shallow close to shore and gradually gets deeper, making it ideal for little children who only want to wade and play in the water.  The deeper water is excellent for swimming and water sports.

map01aMalletts Bay has an inner bay and an outer bay  as seen in the map to the left. The cottages are located on the inner bay, at 1084 and 1090  East Lakeshore Drive, almost directly across from the Narrows that separate the inner and outer bay. Click on the map at left to see exactly where our cottages are located.
